Vida’s New Year’s Resolutions

As we settle into the new year, we’re finally getting around to making a list of our goals and resolutions for 2019. Every new year, we all feel the pressure to set objectives, from learning a new language to losing an unreasonable amount of weight by hitting the gym daily. It might not come as a surprise to realize that every year, after setting an extensive amount of difficult-to-attain resolutions, most are forgotten come March.

Since we took some extra time to really ponder what we wanted for 2019, we’ve decided a new approach: simpler, more manageable goals that make us feel better about ourselves. No more insane expectations that make us feel pressured. Who’s with us? We’ve decided to share our list with you, in case you’re looking for inspiration.

Love yourself more.

Yes. This is a goal and a reminder: to love yourself and love how you look, treat yourself better and remember that you are gorgeous! Do more of what makes you happy and you’ll see that as you boost your mood, your physique will reflect it. ‘Feel good, look good’ is completely on point. Eat nourishing foods, live a healthy life and see your friends more. We’ve decided 2019 is the year for self-care.

Look like the best version of yourself.

Perhaps 2018 was a rough year, perhaps the holiday season left you feeling exhausted and bloated. Why not make 2019 a fresh start and get some help looking better than ever? If that includes finally getting the cosmetic surgery you’ve been thinking about, go for it. Pamper yourself! Thanks to expert and friendly surgeons and a vast menu of procedures that can help you look the best, why wait? 2019 is the year to do it. Go get that surgery you’ve been dreaming of for so long!

Smile more.

Find extra reasons to be happy and grateful. Sometimes all it takes is a deep breath and a moment to yourself in order to remember all of the things that make you happy. While you’re at it, why not make an appointment with the dentist and beautify your smile? The days of fearing a dental appointment are long gone. Think of how happy you will be after a whitening or straightening treatment that will only make you want to smile wider when you see your pearly whites.

Workout more.

Cliché much? We actually want to re-invent this classic. Instead of the old ‘join a gym, go to the gym’ goal, we propose simply moving more. Take a dance lesson, go rollerblading with your boo, or join a hiking club. There are so many things you can do to stay active and healthy. Having fun is the key to a constant workout. Trust us, and come December, you’ll be happy you did.

Get a hormone checkup.

If you’ve already penciled in your yearly physical checkup, why not get a hormone check up too? Not a lot people pay attention to their hormone levels, but they really should. If you feel inexplicably tired, cannot control your weight gain and even lost your sex drive – your hormones are probably to blame. This year, besides going to your physical, find a hormone specialist that will help you feel renewed. Ladies, if you’re nearing menopause, you should put this at the top of your list. Did you know that by having your hormones at optimum levels you can alleviate most of the symptoms of menopause such as hot flashes and mood swings?

Say Yes more!

Approach each and every one of your goals and resolutions with a positive mindset. Surround yourself with people who uplift you and can help you crush this new year’s resolutions, and the rest will follow.
