Hair Transplant in Tijuana
Most people agree that a full head of lustrous hair is attractive. Having a full head of hair is a symbol of youthfulness and vitality that members of the opposite sex, employers and colleagues appreciate.
In Mexico, it is estimated that 13.5 million individuals suffer from hair loss while approximately 35 million men and nearly 21 million women in the United States alone suffer from thinning hair or male or female pattern baldness. If you are among those who suffer from thinning hair or pattern baldness, you might benefit from undergoing micro hair transplantation with VIDA Wellness and Beauty. With micro hair restoration, you can achieve a full head of lustrous hair, with natural-looking results. No one will be able to detect that you have undergone hair restoration treatment — unless you divulge your secret.
How Micro Hair Transplants Work
With modern micro hair transplantation, also called “follicular unit grafting,” the VIDA plastic surgeon removes a follicular unit of hair (a naturally occurring grouping of one to four hairs) from a donor region that is resistant to balding. The donor areas are usually the back and / or sides of the head. The surgeon then implants the harvested hair in the balding area. Given that the harvested hairs are not prone to balding, they will continue to grow for lifetime once they have been transplanted.
Hair Restoration Methods of the Past
Hair restoration methods of the past typically involved excising a strip of the scalp with the hair attached, from a balding-resistant donor area. With “strip excision,” the surgeon transplanted the strip of hair in the balding region. This method was much more invasive and painful than the advanced, modern technique of follicular unit grafting.
The Micro Hair Transplant Procedure
Micro hair transplantation is an outpatient procedure, performed under local anesthesia with the option of oral sedation, so the patient is comfortable and relaxed for the duration of the procedure. The procedure typically takes between three and six hours, during which 1,000 to 2,500 hair grafts are performed. Patients can return home immediately after treatment, but they may need someone to drive them home if they opted for oral sedation.
What to Expect After Micro Hair Transplantation
In the days following the procedure, the hair grafts form small scabs on the scalp. If an individual has a sufficient amount of hair surrounding the grafts, he (or she) can usually conceal the scabs with creative hair styling. If not, the small scabs may be visible, but generally do not attract much attention. By keeping the scabs moist, they usually fall off within about one week.
Also, some of the recently transplanted hair may fall out, but will re-grow once the follicle enters the active growth, or anagen, stage. Once the scabs have healed, and the transplanted hairs have re-grown, the result is a natural-looking, full head of hair.
