A Complete Guide to Facelifts

It’s difficult to understand what a facelift is and what it can do to help your appearance with so much information out there.

In this short guide, we’ll explain what a facelift is and what it can do for your appearance. We will also address some of the myths and misconceptions associated with this popular procedure.

Combined with a neck lift, a facelift can remove and correct signs of aging on your face in order to give your face a more youthful appearance.

If you get a facelift, you may look 5 to 10 years younger after surgery. Though facelifts are not a surgery that alters your facial features dramatically, the procedure can make you look like a younger version of yourself. A board-certified plastic surgeon can enhance the natural features of your face without changing them.

There is no cure for skin that’s been ravaged by the sun or covered with blemishes. A facelift doesn’t turn back the clock, but it can improve your appearance in a subtle, natural way.

What is a facelift?

It is a surgical procedure that improves visible signs of aging on the face and neck. Rhytidectomy, also known as a facelift, improves visible signs of aging. Several factors can lead to the loss of youthful contours on the face, including thinning of the skin, loss of facial fat, gravity, sun damage, smoking, heredity, and stress.

Various procedures may be performed in conjunction with a facelift, such as brow lifts and eyelid surgery to rejuvenate aging eyes. Fat transfers or fillers may be suggested to replace lost fatty mass and CO2 Laser treatments can be used to improve skin texture.

Can I get a facelift without surgery?

There are alternate non surgical treatments for facial rejuvenation, such as using injections for plumper, smoother skin without needing to undergo surgery. It’s for this reason that some experts refer to these procedures as “nonsurgical face lifts.”

Fillers

Juvederm is one of the most popular non-invasive face lift procedures available. This powerful injectable is made of hyaluronic acid, a substance that is naturally present in the body. It gives celebrities their “dewy” and hydrated look.

As much as we think wrinkles are the only sign of aging, loss of volume or sagging skin can also negatively affect our appearance. Ensure a more youthful appearance with this non-surgical face lift procedure, which can restore volume to cheeks and lips that have lost volume.

Juvederm can last two years, so you can expect immediate and long-lasting results.

Botox

Getting immediate results without surgery Recovery is possible with expertly administered Botox units. Botulinum Toxin is a substance that rapidly and dramatically reduces aging signs and prevents new and deeper wrinkles from developing. Many people believe that Botox patients have the wrong idea of the finished look, but we can assure you that VIDA’s expert team can deliver natural-looking Botox results.

What to expect after a facelift

As you recover from facial rejuvenation surgery, it’s important to follow your surgeon’s instructions and take your pain medication as prescribed. For most patients, the surgery will cause bruising, numbness, and swelling.

However, the swelling, redness, and pain begin to subside after 48 hours if you follow the surgeon’s instructions, keep your head elevated to prevent swelling, and take your pain medicine and rest. You will start feeling better soon if you follow the surgeon’s instructions.

Approximately a week after facelift surgery, patients report little to no pain, as well as less swelling and bruising. A follow-up appointment with the surgeon will probably be needed to remove the stitches if needed.

14 days after surgery is the most exciting time for a facelift patient. Most patients start feeling comfortable going out in public during this time, because the inflammation and bruising are so minimal that they can actually appreciate the full result.

After the facelift surgery, some patients report feeling tightness and mild numbness in the skin for a few months, but these symptoms are usually not noticeable and eventually disappear.

For 4 to 6 weeks following facelift surgery, all patients should avoid exercise and high impact activities. However, as soon as your surgeon has cleared you to return to all can do activities without restrictions. You don’t have to worry about anything, and your facelift results will last a lifetime.

Things you need to consider when choosing a surgeon

Any procedure should be done under the care of a surgeon who meets your needs, so make sure you choose the right one for you. Do a background check on the surgeon, looking at their qualifications, experience, and reviews, along with photos and reviews to see how their procedures have gone. Getting the results and expectations that you are looking for will be easier if you know who your surgeon is.
