There are alternate non surgical treatments to help restore your body after childbirth, such as massages and Cool Shaping treatments, which are also helpful. But the short answer to this is no, since a mommy makeover entails more than one procedure.

What to expect after a mommy makeover

DR BUCIORecovery time for a Mommy Makeover depends on what procedures you have done. Mommy Makeovers are not single surgeries, rather a combination of cosmetic procedures customized for you.  Liposuction, Tummy Tucks, Breast Lifts (with or without implants), and Brazilian Butt Lifts are the most popular surgeries that comprise a Mommy Makeover.

Depending on how your body heals and the scope of your procedures, the recovery timeline is completely individual. A mommy who just underwent liposuction and BBL can expect a different recovery time than a mommy who underwent a full tummy tuck, BBL, and a breast lift.

Let’s assume the mom had all of her procedures done in one session. Here’s what she can expect:

Mommy Makeover Recovery: the first 48 hours

It is likely that you’ll need some help during the first few days post-op. Most of our mommies stay the first night at our luxurious recovery boutique to be cared for by one of our nurses. Afterwards, you might feel a bit uncomfortable and notice numbness, swelling, and bruising in the treated areas. It is completely normal to experience these symptoms, and they will start to subside after 48 hours.  During the first few days, you should avoid showering to prevent moisture from entering your incisions.

Recovery Week One of the Mommy Makeovers.

Despite the fact that swelling and bruising are subsiding by now, certain discomfort can still be expected in the treated areas. If you had a breast lift or tummy tuck, you may feel tightness in those areas. It is advisable to avoid sitting down when getting a Brazilian Butt Lift.

It is absolutely okay to rest and recover at home, as long as you have someone to help with simple things such as sweeping, driving, and showering. The first week can still be hard, especially if you are anxious to show off your new body, but it’ll be over before you know it!

The Mommy Makeover recovery continues.

After 2 weeks, moms are usually able to resume normal activities as long as they avoid lifting heavy objects and performing strenuous physical activities. It is recommended that you take several walks throughout the day. Compression garments may be required for some Mommy Makeover procedures.

These are no longer an issue after weeks 4 or 5. You will start feeling incredibly better after 4 to 6 weeks of the procedure. The results of a Mommy Makeover can now be appreciated since there is generally little swelling and bruising.

Things you need to consider when choosing a surgeon

Any procedure should be done under the care of a surgeon who meets your needs, so make sure you choose the right one for you. Do a background check on the surgeon, looking at their qualifications, experience, and reviews, along with photos and reviews to see how their procedures have gone. Getting the results and expectations that you are looking for will be easier if you know who your surgeon is.
